Malta's official Eurovision fan club, OGAE MALTA has announced that the number of songs submitted for the Malta Song for Europe 2007 selection is 228. According to the fan club, Mr. Robert Abela, Maltasong board's chairperson confirmed the news after a number of websites wrongly announced that more than 250 entries were submitted for the next edition.

The judges will listen to all entries between the 23rd and 25th November. The Maltasong board confirmed that the panel will be made of international judges only.

The shortlist of the top 50 entries to make it through to the second phase will be made public on Monday 27th November. The second round of selection is set for 9th December, however the date could change, subject to availability of the international panel of judges.
