Lara Azzopardi with her song Stay with me and duo Josef Tabone and Amanda Farrugia with their song It just comes natural were proclaimed winners of the Opportunity 2 Challenge competition during TVM’s ShowTime ma’ Aceline on Saturday evening. The two songs have therefore won a place in Malta’s Song for Europe 2006 set for the 4th of February.
The two songs won thanks to a televoting system that was open for fifteen minutes following the interpretation of all ten songs that had made it to the Opportunity 2 Challenge final.
Originally, 36 entrants took part in the challenge which gave the opportunity to singers who never took part in the Song for Europe festival to compete to win the possibility of sealing one of two places in Malta’s Song for Europe 2006.
Stay with me was penned by Paul Callus and composed by Chan Vella while lt just comes natural was written and composed by Clinton Paul.
The songs will take the 4th and the 15th spot respectively for the final nights of the 3rd and 4th of February.
