On Saturday evening the public will choose the winner of this year’s Malta Song for Europe festival, who will then represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Athens, Greece.
18 songs are contesting the Malta Song for Europe festival whose winner will be determined through 100 per cent televoting through landlines and mobile phones via SMS. The festival which will commence at 2030 CEST on TVM, will be presented by Eileen Montesin, Josef Bonello and sarcastically enough, also by Eurovision-proclaimed hater Lou Bondi and will include entertainment by last year’s winner Chiara, a band made up of some well-known personalities, comedian Ray Calleja and others.
Meanwhile, on Friday, all contestants gave the same performance to a very warm and welcoming crowd.
While MaltaMedia founder Toni Sant’s overall impression is that "the festival has finally gone to the dogs," he praises some "excellent pop singers". In fact Toni Sant has listed five acts as his favourites. The five (in no particular order) are Pamela, Christian Arding, Trilogy, Eleonor Cassar and Olivia Lewis.
Anyone wanting to comment on this year’s festival can visit Toni Sant's Blog and post comments directly.
Later this evening, MaltaMedia will also be publishing a special edition podcast in relation to the Malta Song for Europe on Toni Sant’s weekly Mużika Mod Ieħor series.
