Further initiatives to allow easier access to this year’s Malta International Fireworks Festival, taking place on 29 and 30 April, have been announced. In addition to the sea transport services from Vittoriosa, Sliema and Gozo, announced last week by the Valletta Waterfront, the Malta Transport Authority have now also agreed to operate the scheduled bus service until half past midnight on both nights of the festival. Journeys departing after 11.00pm will cost 50 cents per ticket.

Fireworks enthusiasts who wish to view the spectacle from the Valletta Waterfront can also make use of the MCP car park which will be open on both nights, at a cost of Lm1.00 per car. In order to facilitate access, parkers will be on hand to guide motorists through a tunnel which leads from the car park to the Valletta Waterfront.

This year’s fireworks festival, organised by the Malta Tourism Authority will, for the first time, include an international competition. At the same time Valletta Waterfront will also be putting on a selection of land based entertainment including music and animators, together with food and drink stalls, in order to create that authentic Maltese festa atmosphere.

Tickets to the special enclosure, located on the quay side of the Waterfront’s laguna, where the land based entertainment will be taking place cost Lm1.50. Special Lm3.00 tickets are also available for those who wish to enjoy elevated seating.

More details on the various transport options available as well as on the activities taking place at Valletta Waterfront during the festival can be obtained by calling VISET plc on 2125 2610 or by sending an email to marketing@visteplc.com
