In a statement released by the Church, it was stated that both the book and the forthcoming film The DaVinci Code are purely works of fiction, and are not based on historical events.

Christians are advised to be wary about such works, and employ a sense of responsibility when taking in works such as these. Parents have also been advised to monitor their children in such circumstances.

The Church bases its fundamental beliefs in the Divinity of Christ, His resurrection and the word of the Holy Bible.
