Fabrizio Faniello, Malta’s Eurovision hopeful for this year, leaves for Athens, Greece today after yesterday’s farewell party that was held at Bay Street.

The concert featured Fabrizio Faniello as well as last year’s representative Chiara who did Malta proud by coming in at second place. Other popular singers were also there to entertain the crowds. Fans met with Fabrizio and offered their well wishes for this year’s contest. Fabrizio also left his hand print in Bay Street's 'Celebrity Street'.

Like Chiara, this is Fabrizio’s second time representing Malta at the Eurovision. His first attempt was in 2001, with Another Summer Night which earned him a 9th position placing.

The Olympic Indoor Hall in Athens is to host the 51st Edition of the Eurovision Song Contest which is being held on Saturday May 20.
