Ryanair starts flights to and from Malta

Two low-cost airline Ryanair carriers landed at the Malta International Airport (MIA) on Tuesday night, marking the start of the company's operations on the island. Around 373 passengers arrived to Malta on both flights. Tourists were welcomed in the arrivals area at the Malta International Airport (MIA) amid a festive atmosphere set up by the Malta Tourism Authority.

Half an hour after landing in Malta the aeroplanes headed back to Pisa and Luton with 128 and 179 passengers aboard respectively.

Ryanair operates three new routes to Malta International Airport from Luton, Pisa and Dublin.

After commencing a daily service from Luton, London, England and a three times weekly service from Pisa, Italy on Tuesday, a three times weekly service from Dublin, Ireland will start on the 9th February 2007.
