For the first time in Maltese political history, on the 12th June the
Maltese citizens go to the polls to choose five candidates to sit in the
European Parliament. This right was attained with Malta's accession to the
European Union on the 1st May 2004. As in every other political elections,
the Maltese voters are expected to participate fully in this democratic
exercise, with many political observers saying that these elections should
become a vote of confidence in the administration of the time.
As in
previous polling appointments, the MaltaMedia News Service will be providing
breaking news with results during voting day and to the minute results from
the Ta' Qali counting hall.
